This will be my last post on this blog. I feel that I need to spend my energy on other things. I remember when my friend Chais wrote his first blog. It got me hooked into writing one myself..about my thoughts and things that are happening in my life. I had a great time doing so. Eventually I'll start another one and the possibility of guest posting on a friend's blog is still there. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and wish everyone the best...

Thomas Hiatt

Would you like to dance???

Rejection is a big one for me. I get easily scared when I have to make a decision that has a HIGH RISK. I've never been a big risk taker. Its something that I would like to work on. I've always been afraid of the big failure/consequence that might happen after taking a risk. I'm inspired by a decision that a friend of mine made recently. He took one of the biggest risks in his life. He quit his job and started his own business. He went from being comfortable with a steady income to now relying on his own self. This was a big jump but he knew what the risk was.

Hearing his experience with his newfound adventure is very intriguing. He and his wife have sacrificed a lot to make things work with their goals. They may not be were they are business wise but they have grown/learned a lot with this experience. They took a big risk and have seen some fruit being harvested. It may not be monetary gain but its something you can't put a price on. I hope they do succeed money wise but I'm impressed with how much they've endured and how this has made them stronger. One last thing...I read a post on a blog called the Modesty Writers Guild. The author echoes some great thoughts on taking risks. Here is the tidbit that made me think more about this:

but whats the worst that could happen? honestly. who cares if people say no, at the end of the day what does it matter? rejection doesn’t hurt so bad when you look back in time and analyze all the success that simply asking will gain you.
so this upcoming year all i am asking is that you simply try. i know it sounds easy, but its not because sometimes it hurts to hear no. but what if, just what if there is a yes to be found amongst the no.

take a chance as ask him/her, talk to your boss about that new position, apply to that college you don’t think you have a chance at, plan that trip and worry about how to get another job to pay for it later, apply to another bigger better job you have always dreamed of, ask that person if they want to start a band, send out your poetry to see if the new yorker will publish it.
what is the worst that could happen, a no? a no from someone you may never see or hear from again? a person that is simply on the other line of the phone that you may never meet? and WHO CARES! life is to short to worry more about rejection than lavish in the possibilities that simply asking a simple question might bring
  Stephen Christian (Modesty Writers Guild)

I will look to take more risks in this new year. No matter if the girl that I'm interested in will say no to a date, I will look forward to actually trying instead of saying "what if?".

One of my Biggest Pet Peeves

This video clip says it all

Why???

Why do women have such great handwriting and most men don't???? Changing jobs or a lifestyle is something that can make a major impact on a person's life. I recently read a blog that had a entry entitled 1%. This author of this entry talks about overcoming things in his life and making himself self-disciplined. He makes a very interesting point about changing ourselves to make our lives easier and better. He mentions how he plans to do this. Using a 1% plan, he tells of how he does a certain task that he would not normally do at 1% everyday. With plans to gradually put full effort in all he does, his thinking of the slow and steady really intrigued me. If I put 1% into something I don't do but needs to be done, I could eventually achieve something in a more manageable and efficient way. Never really thought about that...

Ask the Expert

Hello everyone, i'm doing a segment on the radio called "Ask the Expert" It is on every Thursday morning @ 8:08. Technics would of definitely been better but i'm pretty tight on money right now. This package comes with 2 turntables and a mixer. Should be a good beginner package for me to try out and see if i like deejaying. I also bought a device called Connectiv that allows my turntables and mixer to connect to my computer. The device then interfaces with a program called Torq. It works very well and now i can scratch/mix digitally on my computer. Well...i'm gonna go off and practice real hard so i can dj your birthday parties.

eple = apple

i am recommending a band that has some sweet music. that band is Röyksopp. i've just discovered these guys and they have some very nice music. For instance, this last Sunday i went to a restaurant to celebrate my manager's 20th year at our company. I was informed that i would not be able to use the urinal in the guys restroom. I asked why and was told that it was placed in a very high position. When heard about this, i knew i had to check it out for myself. It was true, the urinal's lowest point came up to my waist. I reached up arms length to access the paper towel dispenser. I felt like i was playing the slot machine. This restroom was made for a Giant and obviously i'm not even close to being one. Here are pictures of the aforementioned items:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_g3nPbD-Nn3Q/R9bud9XsxHI/AAAAAAAAAAY/svidMvq6XQw/s320/03-09-08_1944.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176587020166546546" /> <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_g3nPbD-Nn3Q/R9buptXsxII/AAAAAAAAAAg/HKYl-We-Osw/s320/03-09-08_1946.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176587222030009474" />

Folding Paper

A lot of people ask me what step 7 is for the paper crane. Well, I don't even know what step one is. Origami is an interesting Japanese art. Apparently it promotes concentration and fines motor skills. I've just started folding paper and its a lot of fun. I got interested in it by a couple of guys who thought I folded paper. Know I can tell them that I actually can. Its been a long time since I've done any kind of pull up. The State Wrestling Meet was my measuring stick of how out of shape I was. The marines had a booth set up with a tall pull up bar. If anyone got 20 pull ups, they would receive a shirt and 10 would get you a water bottle. As daunting as the bar looked, I took up the task of trying to get 20 of those menacing pull ups. I told one of marines that I'm shooting to get at least one. I jumped up to the bar and hung thinking "Don't embarrass yourself" I flew through most of my pull ups until I got around 10. Struggling to get some extra ones in, I ended up with 12. Not bad for being out of shape. Exercise is now going to be part of my everyday life (At least attempt to make it be).

Here is some footage of the sweet action pull ups done at State:

Can the Hare really Beat the Tortoise this Time???

I had a very interesting observation last weekend at a Home and Builders Show. The company I work for had a booth there. Another booth across from us sold siding and gutter equipment. One of the guys from that booth was just an absolute creep. We had a woman working with us in our booth and came in that afternoon. Once she arrived, the siding dude came up to her and asked her out on a date. Are you kidding me??? This dude was that quick to asking a girl on but didn't see that this lady had the rock on her left finger. She told him politely "NO WAY" This dude was checking out ladies all day. What struck me was that he actually got a phone number. Close to the end of the show, he received a number from a Booth Babe who was selling floors. I thought to myself "No way this creep actually got a number" This guy was fast and upfront with the ladies but persistent in actually scoring with a woman. Unbelievable...please don't act like this guy. Treat women with respect and don't act like a pig. He even tried to offer pizza to us that he made the night before. No thanks, I'll just go to Taco Johns...

Snapple Real Fact #16

The world's termites outweigh the world's humans 10 to 1

Find more "Real Facts" at snapple.com

Yes Chef!!!

Hello everyone...its been a while since i've posted. I've been watching a show called Kitchen Nightmares. I love this show! It features the one and only chef Gordon Ramsey. You may have seen his other show: Hell's Kitchen. I love how Gordon approaches every restraunt/kitchen situation. He tries out their food, observes dinner services, and then looks to ways to improve them. He really does his homework and is a very in your face person. I recommend watching at least an episode to see how he does w/these restraunts. Its awesome...

Stick This In Your Ear

It is just not fair comma how you can apostrophe "T" process this
So dash called sagua faire comma in the air exclamation
Trying to be compatible so hyphen to dash speak semicolon
With my quotation quotables colon
You love who you are period. This was such a big huge pain in the butt. I loaded about 3,000 songs and thats not including my CDs. Anyways, this has led me to nostalgia. I've been listening to a lot of my "old school" music. Right now I'm rocking GRITS (Mental Releases) and Plankeye (Spark) on my computer. I've also been listening to some Dance/Club music (Thanks to Mr. Ben Stiller). Mainly spinning DJ Andy Hunter's music. I can't believe I slept on this guy. He has music in video games and movies. I would definitely recommend checking his stuff out. Take for example my chopstick goal that I posted about. About a three weeks ago, I helped install some computers for a customer of ours. While I was installing them, I made conversation with one of the ladies that worked there. Some Blah Blah stuff and in the middle of the conversation I brought up that I was eating almost every meal with chopsticks for a week. She thought that was neat and offered me some pretzels. I ate so many of those pretzels that my mouth was drooling. This past Thursday, she brought over a bucket of those Cabela's brand pretzels and chopsticks to go with them. I was amazed that she would stop by our office and offer me these items. Even though the chopsticks thing felt kinda of silly, it was cool to see someone remember that and actually offer me chopsticks to use.

Here are some pictures for proof:

The Clouds Stalk On Their Prey

I'm finding it harder everyday to concentrate on anything. A friend and I made a silly goal to eat using chopsticks for one week. We either used them every other meal or with food that you could eat with a fork. This was a challenge for me because I hardly used chopsticks. Every meal that I had to use them, I made sure I had the right type of food in front of me. I ate everything from Oreos, Chicken Nuggets, and Spaghetti. What's really cool about this challenge was that I actually got something from it. I see this silly goal as something that was great to accomplish. I planned my meals which is something I normally don't do. The thing I learned from this was that I needed to plan out my goals better. Whether they are daily, weekly, or monthly. Having a goal in front of me and the challenge of getting it done in a certain time really made me want to achieve it.
